What is Visual design?
Visual design is about creating and making the form and content of a product consistent. In order to make aesthetically pleasing products, designers must work with the fundamental elements of design and arrange them according to the principles of design. When creating the visual design of any product, it is important to understand the elements and principles of visual design.
The digital document that I created for my course is an infographic. The learning objective addressed by the infographic is " students will be able to identify the different elements of gamification."
In creating the infographic, I focused on the following design elements
Shapes- As humans, we tend to identify objects by their shapes which are enclosed self-contained areas. I focused on shape because it is a quick and effective way to communicate information.
White Space - also known as negative space is the empty space around a shape. I use the white space to create interesting visuals around the shape.
Contrast/value - This describes lightness and darkness. I concentrated on contrast to enhance the clarity of the product.
Color - is an important element of visual design. It is the element of light. I used this to separate distinct areas on the infographic.
